Never before Darrow had Marcus imagined himself to be a man who spends much time in bars and yet here he is for the third time this week, tucked into a booth near the bar, a half finished beer to one side as well as an empty plate that had once held nachos. They're both pushed aside, however, and instead he has an open notebook in front of him on the tabletop, a few pencils scattered nearby, and for the first time in several months, Marcus is drawing in something other than his Bible.

He's been drawing a variety of scenes from Darrow, some of the places he's been and the people he's met. There are a few quick portraits of Angela, because he meant what he'd said to her before, he doesn't know many people strong enough to done what she has and he does respect that immensely. Besides that, she's fascinating to draw. She's hardly the only one, though, and there are a few familiar faces in the notebook, but he's currently working on a sketch of one of the churches he's visited in his time here, intricate arches and delicate stonework.

Not far from where he's sitting the door swings open and Marcus looks up, watches as a man a few years younger than him comes in. He has a tattoo on his neck, though from here Marcus can't quite make it out, and he's peering a little closer, trying to see what the outline makes up when he realizes he's been staring. More than that, he seems to have been caught staring.

He glances up, catches the man's gaze and gives him a small, apologetic smile. Perhaps the man will have realized Marcus was only looking at his tattoo, but truthfully, he's rather nice to look at in general.
