By the time he's up the front steps of the Bramford, Dan is already there, and Marcus is unable to control the grin that curves his mouth. Dan looks good, which is no surprise, but this is the first time Marcus has really allowed himself to see without the pretence of being just friends and just how good Dan looks settles into him as reality. He looks this way because he's dressed for a date. Because he wants Marcus to see him.
And he does. His grin grows as the door is opened.
"I'm early," he says. "If you're not ready yet, I can wait. I just..." He shrugs, his grin helpless at this point. He's early because he had been driving himself mad with waiting. What he should have done was gone for a bit of a drive to settle his nerves, but instead he'd come straight here and now they're standing in front of each other and Marcus feels as if he's broken every single rule of arrival for a first date and he doesn't care at all. Right now he's just glad to be here.
