A few months ago he would have considered his brazen flirting with her nothing more than a lark, having been both a priest and, as far as he would have imagined, far too old for her, but Darrow has changed at least one of those things. And Bennett had taken care of the other.
It's entirely possible -- probable, really -- that there's still nothing to it. She is too young for him, but she's too young for him much in the same manner Neil is too young for him and that hasn't stopped Marcus so far. What might stop him is her own lack of interest, but he'd been fairly certain she'd been flirting just as steadily as he had when they'd finally run into each other again at the celebration that evening.
This is hardly a date, he's not foolish enough to call it anything like that, but they're still meeting at a bar, which Marcus takes to mean they're not simply going to pass the rosary off and then be on their individual ways. He'd enjoyed spending time with her and he thinks she had enjoyed his company as well, so he'd suggested one of the nicer bars he's discovered during his months in Darrow.
For a priest, he's becoming awfully well versed in drinking.
He arrives a few minutes early and he's casually dressed, but he's taken care to make sure he's clean and that everything fits properly. Even before he'd been excommunicated, he'd liked clothing, liked black jeans and leather jackets and he knows it's vanity, but he doesn't care. That's hardly the worst of his sins, he expects, and he knows he looks nice as he finds a booth in the bar and waits for Molly.
